Book Talks, Reading Logs & Monthly Goals

Book Talks
This week we'll be starting our Book Talks. Once a month each student will present a Book Talk for a book that they have read during the month. The books may be picture or chapter books but should be a book they enjoyed reading and would like to tell others about. Here are the steps to a book talk:
  1. Read the book.
  2. Complete the Book Talk Form.
  3. Hand in the Book Talk Form
Within two days of handing in the book talk, a student will be asked to present their Book Talk to the class. After which they may enter their Book Talk onto our Book Talk Blog. Only those students that have returned a signed web release form will be permitted to add their Book Talks to our blog. Book Talks will be scored using this Book Talk rubric.

School Pictures
Please remember that school pictures will be taken this Thursday, 16 Sept 2010.

Monday Notes
In an effort to save class time and avoid "nickel and dime-ing" you with written notes throughout the week, I'll accumulate any notes to you and send them home each Monday. Please have your child bring their homework folder every day, but particularly on Mondays.

Room Mothers & Classroom Volunteers
I'm excited to have so many of you willing to help out with our class! Many of you have already helped us with radKIDS and have signed up for volunteering in the class. This is terrific and will help me optimize the time I can work with small groups within the class. Thank you.
