Our school Carnival will be this Thursday, 23 Sept. 2010 from 4:00 - 6:30. There will be lots of fun activities in which families can participate. For a period of time I'll be at the dunk tank. If you are a good aim with a softball, come an try to dunk me.
For the silent auction, our class is collecting items that are used when you go camping and fishing. All ready, a number of great items have been donated. Keep them coming in.

Read Aloud at Home
As a reminder, reading aloud to your child can count towards their daily 20 minutes of homework reading. I encourage each parent to make reading aloud an integral part of reading at home. When you get a chance, please check out my "Read Aloud" web page.
Jim Trelease, the author of The Read Aloud Handbook provides compelling proof for the importance of reading aloud to children. I have a couple of copies of his book that I'm eager to lend to you.
