I would like to send a hearty thank you to the mothers that helped us out with our Halloween parties. They did a terrific job and we had lots of fun. Also I need to thank all of you who volunteer in our classroom. The fluency and word sorting you do with the students helps greatly.
This week looks to be straightforward. As usual, homework will go home on Monday and should be returned the following week. Starting with this week’s homework, you won't need to record how long it takes for your child to complete their homework. I had asked you to do this so that I could tell if I was giving an appropriate quantity of homework. Please continue to initial each day your child reads and when they study their spelling words at home.
In math we are working on reviewing multiplication facts. You probably already heard about the Math Cracker Jack award that students may earn if they can show they know each of the fact families for twos through nines. Ask your child how they are doing. They are welcome to supplement their homework by taking home multiplication practice sheets each day.
You can find this note and any other classroom communication I send home at a blog I have created. To access the blog go to http://www.bunker.nridge.net and click on the “For Parents” link. Also, sometime this week, would you answer this classroom communication survey?
Report cards come home on Friday.
Thank You,
