Week #28 Message

Biography Unit
We are approaching the close of our biography unit. Each student has been working on reading 20 biography books and writing what they have learned in their Biography Booklets. They are researching and writing a biography report. On Wednesday, 28 March they will come to school dressed as their biography character. These are just simple costumes that will portray the person they have been researching. Students will share their biography reports on 29 March and then we will celebrate with a Biography Bash on 30 March.

Read Aloud Resources
I came across this and thought I should share it with you. Jim Trelease, the author of The Read Aloud Handbook has put together a brochure called "Ten Facts Parents Should Know About Reading." I encourage you to take a look at it. You can download an English or EspaƱol version of it.

Testing Schedule
The students in our class will be taking the end of level tests on 2-3 and 8-9 of May. Please avoid having your child miss school on those days.
