Classroom Supply List, Donations, Back to School Night

I wish to thank each of you who scheduled a time for your child to take the Directed Reading Assessment (DRA) with me. Not only does this givs me a jump start in better meeting your child's language arts needs, but allows me to get to know your child before school starts.

CLASSROOM SUPPLY LIST
Beginning a new school year is exciting. Not only do we have a fresh start, but we get to use new school supplies. Fun! Below is a list of supplies that each student will be using in my class. As a school we'll provide the basic school supplies, but if you would like a greater choice of color or pattern or would even like to help defray the cost and provide your own supplies, you are welcome to. If you would like, you may even help us out and purchase extras of these supplies for use in our classroom.

Basic student supplies
  • 1 composition notebooks (100 sheets, wide ruled, 9 1/4 x 7 1/2 in.)
  • 12 #2 lead pencils
  • colored pencils
  • 2 paper pocket portfolios with fastener (stapled-in fastener)
Helpful supplies
  • 1 pencil sharpener that will contain shavings (non-electric)
  • 12 eraser caps
Classroom supplies
  • liquid hand sanitizer
  • facial tissues
  • sandwich-size or gallon-size zip-top bags

DONATIONS
I’m requesting a $15.00 donation from each family. You can either make out a check directly to Northridge Elementary or make a tax deductible donation through the Alpine School District Foundation (ask me for a foundation form). In either case please specify the funds to be used in Mr. Bunker’s classroom. No students will be excluded from activities if a donation is not made.

BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT
I look forward to meeting with you Tuesday, 24 August from 4:00 - 6:00. Stop in and see what is in store for the coming school year. I'll have a hard copy of the above classroom supply list along with actual samples of the the supplies.
